About Independent Waves
Our Mission Statement
Our primary purpose is to support individuals to live as independently as possible within a community setting.
Our mission is to provide quality support and a value for money service for adults with learning disabilities/difficulties.
Our service adapts to the need of the individual to provide a safe, secure and homely environment.
We are fully committed to ensuring that the individual needs of the people we support are met and their rights and opinions respected and valued at all times.
We aim to achieve this by maintaining the life skills that the individuals we support already have and then build on this with their own personal aims and goals. By doing this the individuals that we support can be as independent as they possibly can regardless of their difficulties/disabilities and reach their full potential.
Our team makes individuals needs a priority with a person centred approach at all times.
Our Core Values
The following core values will always be recognised and adhered to in respect of every vulnerable person.
Privacy and Dignity - Ensuring that people have their own respected space whilst avoiding social isolation. Knocking on individuals doors prior to entry is fundamental and ensuring individuals dignity is respected when supporting things like personal care.
Choice - The opportunity to select independently from a range of options, this could include: menu planning, personal timetables, budget planning, aims and goals, along with the choice of what clothes they would like to wear daily.
Rights - Empowering individuals of their rights, giving them all the options and assisting to make informed choices.
Compassion - Showing kindness and empathy towards the individuals we support whilst setting a positive example within the team.
Improving Lives - The recognition of each individuals aims, goals and aspirations and assisting them to achieve this.
Everyone Counts - Fostering positive relationships between the individual and their friends and family.
